| Judges were enchanted with 19-year-old model Carmen Susana Dujim, whose shyness in the 1955 Miss World made her even more engaging. Awarded the crown by British Actress Eunice Gayson, Carmen was the first South American to win the top place in an international beauty pageant. Carmen's daughter inherited her mother's good looks and represented Venezuela in Miss World 1983.
