| Born in 1939, Argentina's stunning and stylish Norma Gladys Cappagli was the first of the Sixties' Miss World winners as well as the first from her country (and the second from South America) to claim the coveted crown.

| Born in Wrexham, Wales, in 1943, Rosemarie Frankland was no stranger to the beauty pageant circuit. In 1961 she won the Miss Wales title, followed by Miss United Kingdom and the Miss World crown all in the same year. When comedian Bob Hope placed the crown on her head, he remarked that she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. A month later, she appeared with him in Alaska to entertain the troops.
